Ibizan Wedding

Wedding in Ibiza

It was a beautiful late afternoon, sitting in Sunset Ashram in Cala Conta watching the pink sun submerge into the sea where my now husband Stuart proposed. Needless to say it was utterly perfect. So when it came to organising a venue for our wedding, we knew it had to be in Ibiza. First of all we had to look for a wedding planner, living in the UK there was no way we could arrange everything ourselves. What seemed like a lifetime of researching we found Ibiza Wedding Shop online. We got in contact with the director Candi, who gave us lots of choices of venues, food, flowers etc etc. She was flexible and we could basically have whatever we wanted.

We choose the cliff by Es Vedra in Cala d’Hort. Forty of our guests arrived and were stunned by the serene, seascape beauty of the backdrop whilst a Spanish guitarist gently strumming beautiful music in the background. Es Vedra rising from the sea has been clouded in mystery and intrigue for years, from UFO sightings to it being the tip of the sunken Atlantis. It was used in the movie South Pacific playing Bali Hai and is the third most magnetic place on the planet. Candi had laid out petals on the path to the cliff and this is where I had my unforgettable ceremony.

The evening dinner and reception was held at Cas Mila, a beach front restaurant in Cala Tarida. Our guests enjoyed champagne and canapés outside, with the moon illuminating the sea, the romantic lamps softly lighting the outdoor area and Ibiza chill-out music being played whilst they met and mingled. Specialising in seafood, we knew not all of our guests eat fish, Cas Mila also provided us with outstanding vegetarian and chicken dishes. With the cake cut and speeches done, it was time for some entertainment in the shape of fire dancers. Candi had hired them for us and they certainly wowed! What could be more Ibizan? Dancing into the early hours of the night it was not over yet, for we had booked a VIP section at Eden for our friends to really end the night with a bang! The next few days and nights we stayed at the exclusive suites in Can Lluc were we unwound, relaxed and enjoyed the serenity and nature of Ibiza. Planning a wedding? Plan again.

Going Underground in Paris

As this was my second visit to Paris I like to think I am now a fully fledged Parisian. Or perhaps barely fledged would be more accurate, however a beautiful city like this can make you fall in love with it all over again. Glossing over the rats, tramps and smell of wee on the metro, we went further down to the depths of the unknown. Under the city, miles of tunnels running like arteries form the Catacombs.

Non-Climbers Guide to Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro

Hmm…yes, that’s a good idea?!...

When thinking of honeymoon ideas, Mount Kilimanjaro isn’t really up there in terms of a romantic getaway. But this is exactly what my significant half Stuart and I decided to do.

Stuart grew up on the rugged plains near the Welsh border and spent his childhood on his bike having adventures with his friends and climbing up things. To sum him up he’s outdoorsy. I, on the other hand grew up in the flattest part of England and as soon as I could walk, spent my weekends in my dads shop (we’re Indian you see) stacking sweet shelves.

The Only Way is Ephesus

Needing some well-earned downtime Stuart and I decided to pack our bags for a last minute break to hit Ozdere on the Aegean Coast, a teeny, weeny sleepy place. We don’t usually do relaxing holidays but after a relatively crap week at work that’s what we booked.
